Dr. Christophe Wiart is the general secretary of the Asian Society of Pharmacognosy. Dr. Christophe Wiart appeared on HBO's Vice (TV Series) in season 3, episode 6 (episode 28 of the series), titled "The Post-Antibiotic World & Indonesia's Palm Bomb." This episode aired on April 17, 2015. This episode highlighted the need to find new treatments for infections that were previously treatable with antibiotics, but are now resistant to multiple drugs. “The last hope for the human race’s survival, I believe, is in the rainforests of tropical Asia,†said ethnopharmacologist Dr. Christophe Wiart. “The pharmaceutical wealth of this land is immense.â€

Christophe Wiart PharmD, PhD, ASP (born August 12, 1967) is a French Pharmacognosist. His fields of expertise are Asian ethnopharmacology, chemotaxonomy and ethnobotany. He has collected and studied several hundred species of medicinal plants of Southeast Asia. Ethnopharmacology of medicinal plants in Asia Pacific; bioprospection, collection and identification of medicinal botanical samples and phytochemical and pharmacological study for the identification of lead compounds as novel antibacterial, antiviral, anticancer, and anti-diabetic principles from rare plants from the rainforest of Southeast Asia and from medicinal plants used by locals
Biography
Dr. Chen graduated from the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1985 after 5 years training in acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and western medicine. He completed his Ph.D. in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2012. Dr. Chen serves as a Commissioner (Educator Member) and the Secretary of Accreditation Commission of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (ACAOM). Dr. Chen has practiced acupuncture and Chinese medicine for more than 27 years, especially having rich experience in treating different neurological and mental-emotional disorders as well as providing acupuncture care for women’s health and cancer patients. He has published more than 40 research papers in various medical journals in different countries, two of which were cited in Current Bibliographies in Medicine: Acupuncture (1970 -1997) by the National Library of Medicine. He has also published eight acupuncture books, such as The Effectiveness of Acupuncture Treatment on Various Diseases(1990) and Guide of Consulting Acupuncture(1994) and in 1992 he participated in writing two large-scale reference works: New Edition of Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion and Complete Works of Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion. He is a Fellow of the International College of Acupuncture and Electro-Therapeutics (F.I.C.A.E.), a Visiting Professor of Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine in the ICAE and an Editorial Committee member of Acupuncture & Electro-Therapeutics Research, the International Journal. Dr. Chen is also an Executive Council member of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) and the Executive President of the National Federation of Chinese TCM Organizations (NFCTCMO).

Biography
Mohammed Hmamouchi has obtained PhD in Phytochemistry (1986, Laval University in Canada). After his graduation, he gets research and teaching positions in the faculty of medicine and pharmacy in Rabat. In 1999, he has published his first main book; it is the fruit of several years of research and reflection, on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants in Morocco. In 2004 he was appointed by Moroccan government to develop and implement national policies on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants. He oversaw build and equipment. He leads, as a Director, of a First National Institute on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (African and Arab). In 2011 he became President of the Arab Federation of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants. He was also the focal point of different international conventions and agreements, and coordinator of national and international MAP networks (Tempus: European Union Projects). He managed several research projects, contracts and cooperation agreement. He assisted business creation, cooperatives for the production of MAP and product development opportunities. He has worked with many international institutions and companies in over 30 countries. He is a member of several professional bodies and has received many grants and awards. In 2013 he became Advisor to the Minister of Higher Teacher Education, Scientific Research. Dr. Hmamouchi continuing to do research, to be invited to give plenary lectures at the Congress (Guest Speakers) and also to make expertise.

He headed several departments and agencies for training, research, innovation. He has published more than 100 papers in reputed journals, 4 books and has been serving as an editorial board member and Chief Editor of International Journal (www. AJMAP.org). He received many grants and awards such as the ISESCO, President of the Republic of Tunisia and European Business Innovation (Clusters).
